Brand collab karne ke liye lakhs of followers nahi chahiye. You need an Instagram Creator account, a clear niche, honest engagement and a rate. Nano creators, with 1,000 to 10,000 followers, are now a normal part of Indian campaigns, and the first paid deal usually comes from being easy to find and easy to say yes to.
Most Hindi pages on this topic were written between 2021 and 2023 and stop at "achha content banao". This one gives the seven steps, what small creators actually charge in 2026, and when to turn down barter.
Kitne followers chahiye?
Koi fixed number nahi hai. Kofluence's 2026 annual report, released in May 2026, found 61.1 percent of surveyed Indian creators are nano creators, with 1,000 to 10,000 followers. Brands have followed them there: in the 2025 festive season, nano and micro creators made up 75 percent of creator participation, according to a Qoruz analysis reported by Storyboard18 in August 2026. The same analysis found 38 percent of festive activations came from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
We see the same on Qolab. Of 509 creators with at least 1,000 followers, 272 have fewer than 10,000. For the longer answer, read our guide on how many followers you need for brand deals.
Pehli paid deal ke 7 steps
- **Switch to a Creator account.** Instagram settings, account type, Creator. It is free. Personal accounts do not show reach and audience insights, and those insights are the first thing a brand asks for.
- **Pick one niche and say it in your bio.** "Skincare for oily skin, Pune" gets found. "Lifestyle, travel, food, fashion" does not.
- **Post consistently for a month before you pitch.** Three to four posts a week, mostly reels, in the same niche. A brand opening your profile should know in five seconds what you make.
- **Know your numbers.** Engagement rate, top cities, age split. Screenshot them from your insights, or keep them in a simple one-page media kit.
- **Set a rate before anyone asks.** Saying a number confidently gets more deals than "aap batao".
- **Pitch small brands in your niche.** Local cafes, D2C skincare, regional clothing labels. Short DM or email: who you are, one idea for their product, your numbers, your rate.
- **Get it in writing.** What you will post, by when, how much, when you get paid, and whether the brand can use your video in ads.
Brand pehle kya dekhte hain?
Before a brand messages you, it usually opens your profile and checks four things in under a minute:
- **Recent reels in one niche.** If your last nine posts cover nine topics, the brand cannot picture its product on your page.
- **Comments that sound real.** Twenty genuine comments beat two hundred emoji replies. Sudden follower jumps with flat likes look bought.
- **Where your audience lives.** A Jaipur clothing label wants followers in Rajasthan, not mostly outside India.
- **Whether you have done a collab before.** Even one clean, well-labelled barter post shows you can follow a brief.
Pitch DM kaise likhein?
Keep it to five lines. Brands skim. Here is a shape that works in Hindi or English:
“Hi, I am Priya, I make skincare reels for oily skin from Pune (8,400 followers, mostly women 18-30 in Maharashtra). I would love to do a 30-second reel on your niacinamide serum, showing a 7-day before and after. My rate for one reel is ₹1,500. Happy to share my insights.”
Name, niche, numbers, one specific idea, your rate. No "collab karoge?", no long story. For more versions, see our pitch templates for Indian creators.
Rate kitna rakhein?
Start near the market. On Qolab in October 2026, the median creator with 1,000 to 10,000 followers asked ₹1,222 for one reel, and the middle half asked between ₹1,150 and ₹2,543. That is across 251 Indian creators whose accounts synced in the previous 30 days.
These are asking prices, not final deal prices. Raise yours after two or three completed deals, or when a brand wants extra: more than one reel, a fast deadline, or the right to run your video as an ad.
Barter lein ya paid?
Barter (free product instead of money) is not always bad. Use one rule: take barter only if you would buy the product anyway and the brand wants one simple post. If they want a reel, a script, a deadline or usage rights, that is work, and it should be paid. Our barter collaboration guide covers how to turn a barter offer into a paid one.
Scam se kaise bachein?
A real brand never asks you to pay. Walk away if someone asks for a registration fee, an OTP, your bank login, or wants you to join a WhatsApp group before sending a written offer. Check that the email comes from the brand's own domain, not a free Gmail with the brand name in it.
Post karte waqt kya label lagayein?
Har paid ya gifted collab par label zaroori hai, including barter. The ASCI guidelines allow Instagram's Paid Partnership tag or one of a short list of words such as Ad, Collaboration or Free gift, placed where it cannot be missed, not buried in a wall of hashtags. Our guide to the ASCI disclosure rules lists all ten permitted labels and the timing rules for reels.
Ek jagah sab kuch
Pitching brand by brand works, but it is slow. On a marketplace, brands search for creators by niche, city and follower range and send the offer to you, with the brief, deadline and price written down before you start.
Creating a creator profile on Qolab is free with no follower minimum: you connect your Instagram, set your rate, and brands that book you pay upfront, with the money held until your content is live.
